Bonus credits convert to withdrawable cash only when bets win — and the stake does not return; only the profit on the bet does.

The math, worked out

Place a $1,000 first bet on Yankees ML at -150 (qualifies at -200 or longer). If Yankees win, you receive $666.67 in cash profit — no bonus bet involved. If Yankees lose, you receive 5 × $200 in bonus bets. Use $200 bonus bet on Mets +150 — if Mets win, you receive $300 in cash profit. If Mets lose, the bonus bet is gone.

Expected value

Expected value at maximum stake (assuming -110 first bet): approximately $1,050-1,150 of nominal bonus value if the first bet loses. Real-world EV value is lower because of bonus-bet stake-not-returned and 7-day expiry.

How to maximize the offer

BetMGM's offer has two notable features. The 5-token split (vs single-token at FanDuel) gives more flexibility but also more friction. The 7-day expiry is the tightest in the market — plan to use all 5 tokens within a week. The -200 minimum-odds restriction means you cannot stake the qualifying bet on heavy favorites at -250 or longer.
