Baccarat Strategy: Banker vs Player vs Tie

Baccarat strategy is essentially "always bet Banker." Banker has a 1.06% edge after the 5% commission; Player is 1.24%; Tie is a brutal 14.4%.

The math

Banker wins 45.86% of hands → 1.06% house edge after commission.

Player wins 44.62% → 1.24% house edge.

Tie pays 8:1 (sometimes 9:1) but only hits 9.52% → 14.36% house edge (or 4.85% on 9:1 tables).

The only strategy

Bet Banker every hand. Never Tie. Player is acceptable but always slightly worse than Banker.

Why "trends" don't work

Cards are dealt from a shoe; they're effectively random. Past hand outcomes do not predict future hand outcomes. The "trend" patterns visible at baccarat tables are randomness pattern-matching, not predictive.

FAQ

Does this strategy guarantee profit?

No casino game can be beaten long-term except blackjack (with card counting), video poker (with full-pay tables), and certain forms of poker. Strategy reduces house edge but doesn't eliminate it for most games.
