About BettingOnline.org

Independent. Editorially honest. Free tools and education for US bettors. Founded 2018.

What we do

BettingOnline.org is a US-focused sports betting, casino, and poker information site. We publish operator reviews, strategy guides, free betting calculators, and original industry research. Everything on the site is free — no paywall, no email gate, no premium tier.

Our mission

The legal US sports betting market is large, growing, and full of marketing dressed up as advice. Our mission is simple: build the resource we wished existed when we first started betting — honest about edge and variance, specific about which operators are good and which aren't, and rigorous about the math.

How we make money

BettingOnline.org earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up at some of the operators we review. We disclose this on every relevant page, and we maintain editorial separation between our review/ranking process and our affiliate relationships. See our full affiliate disclosure for specifics.

Our reviews are not for sale. Operators cannot pay for placement, ranking, or favorable coverage.

Our editorial team

BettingOnline.org content is produced by working bettors, journalists, and former operator analysts. Author profiles disclose backgrounds, credentials, and areas of focus.

  • Alex Park — Lead industry analyst. Former operator-side analytics; covers regulation and market structure.
  • Mike Cole — Senior strategy editor. 10+ years in NFL/NBA betting markets.
  • Sarah Vance — Regulation editor. Former state regulatory staff.
  • Chris Thompson — Responsible gambling and consumer protection lead.
  • Jordan Reyes — Live betting and product analyst.

How we work

We publish according to a documented methodology, follow specific editorial standards, and rate operators using a transparent criteria framework.

What we do not do

  • Sell picks. No tout services, no premium tiers, no Discord channels.
  • Promote unlicensed offshore operators. We cover only state-licensed US sportsbooks.
  • Take operator money for favorable coverage. Our reviews are not for sale.
  • Provide tax, legal, or financial advice. We publish education, not personalized guidance.

Responsible gambling

If betting stops being fun, help is free and confidential. Call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit our responsible gambling resources page. We rate operators in part on the strength of their responsible-gambling tooling.
