Let It Ride Betting Online

Let It Ride is one of the most entertaining casino betting games that I’ve ever played. I played it for the first time purely for the purpose of writing this article — you couldn’t pull me away from it. I like it because it’s similar to playing poker. This made it incredibly easy to learn too.

If you haven’t played Let It Ride yet, I highly suggest that you try it out. I have listed the rules and odds below. Be sure to read those so that you’re familiar with the game before heading to your favorite casino.

Let It Ride Betting Rules

You have two different objectives in Let It Ride games online.

The first objective is to make the best 5-card poker hand. In the majority of casinos, a pair of 10s or better is the minimum winning hand. All other hands (pair of 9s or worse) lose.

The second objective is to minimize your losses and maximize your wins. This is probably a no brainer. But the reason why I list this as an objective is because you need to be able to do this with limited information. You don’t know what 2 of the (faced down) cards are — so you’ll be betting or continuing in the dark, so to speak. This will make more sense as I go over the game play.

How to Play Let it Ride

I’ll go over the game play as how you’ll see it online. It might be a little different in a live setting.

The first thing you’ll do is place your ante. It’ll be placed in front of you in the ante circle. This is one of 3 circles in front of you. The other two are ‘raise.’

Once you place your ante, you’ll be dealt 3 cards face up. Two other (community) cards will be dealt faced down.

Once you have your cards, you’ll have two options — you can continue, which is like checking or you can raise. Each raise is the equivalent to the size of your ante. If you ante $5, you can only raise $5.

After you continue or raise, the dealer will flip up one of the cards that is faced down. You’ll then have the option again to continue or raise. Once you make your decision, the dealer will flip up the last down card. It’ll then be determined whether you have a winning hand or not and you will be paid (or not paid) accordingly. Here are the payouts:

  • Royal Flush – 1,000:1
  • Straight Flush – 200:1
  • Four of a Kind – 50:1
  • Full House – 11:1
  • Flush – 8:1
  • Straight – 5:1
  • Three of a Kind – 3:1
  • Two Pair – 2:1
  • Pair – 1:1

Progressive Jackpot

When making your ante, you can also place a $1 wager which goes towards the progressive jackpot. Here are the hands that qualify for the jackpot along with what you’ll be paid:

  • Royal Flush – 100% of Jackpot
  • Straight flush – 10% of Jackpot
  • Four of a kind – $1,000
  • Full house – $500
  • Flush – $150

Play Let It Ride Online

Let It Ride is without a doubt a fun game to play. And if you use optimal strategy, there is only a house edge of about 3.5%. This is pretty low when you compare it to 25%+ for keno, up to 15% for slots and as high as 16% for craps (depending on the bets you make of course). If you haven’t tried Let It Ride yet, that what are you waiting for? I encourage you to try this game out at one of our recommended casinos in the table above.
